Cheer Program
The Knights’ cheer program is divided by age into five divisions.Cheerleaders cheer for their corresponding football teams and also go to competition. Our girls are defending champions for VYC competition and for JAMZ Golden Classic Championships. Our girls have also ranked as high as number 2 in the nation at JAMZ National Championships in Las Vegas.
Practice Logistics
Game Schedule
Teams practice 2 hours per day, 5 days aweek through the month of August.
September, October, and November Cheer practice will be 2 to 3 days a week (depending on the coach's schedule).
Additional mandatory weekend practices are held in October for all cheerleaders participating in the VYC Cheer Competition Championships.
Also, additional mandatory weekend practices November through January for JAMZ Golden Classic Championships at Magic Mountain and (if the team qualifies) for JAMZ National Championships in Las Vegas.
If cheerleaders do not complete 20 hours of conditioning prior to the first game they will not be allowed to participate in Cheer Competition.
The number of season games are approximately eight. The VYC schedule is published early in September (a flyer will be sent out addressing new changes for the football season).
Playoffs are usually on Saturday and VYC Competition is on Sunday at the end of October. As the season progresses, your team will be provided scheduling information.
If there are more than thirty cheerleaders per team, there will be try-outs for competition routines.
Please note: No jewelry is allowed during practice or games. Cheer personnel will not be responsible for lost jewelry, so please do not bring it to practice or games.
